Oh, you don't? That's a shame.
Our class became bright and excited when they saw the pile of books I walked in with this morning.
We explored rhythm again this morning, cycling back and reintroducing skills students have previously learned.
Each group chose a book, and practiced reading it to a set rhythm. Once they perfected this reading and pattern, they presented to the class. We reiterated that there is rhythm in music and in book structure - the used words by the author create a beat. The beat in music is similar to a pulse, and in reading, its based on the syllabic structure. Rhythm in reading is a form of spoken music!
